BIOGRAPHY
Aurèle Ferrier is an artist working with the medium of film. His work is defined by a reduced aesthetic and a documentary approach that examines the complex interplay between natural and constructed environments. He explores the effects of urbanization and human interventions, questioning how these processes transform both landscapes and cities. His works invite contemplative reflection on the physical and psychological dimensions of such transformations and their impact on our perception and the structure of anthropogenic spaces. He also addresses questions of sustainability and the long-term consequences of human interference with natural systems.
Aurèle Ferrier’s works have been internationally recognized and presented at renowned festivals and exhibitions, including IDFA (Amsterdam), Open City Documentary Festival (London), Rencontres Internationales (Paris/Berlin), NewFilmmakers – Anthology Film Archives (New York), the City Museum of Contemporary Art (Hiroshima), and VP Kyoto – Image Forum (Tokyo).
